Tomorrow, we will be gathering for the Seminary’s official ribbon cutting and blessing, marked by the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. It was two years ago on this very feast that we were able to break ground for this project, and now we will once again gather in great thanksgiving for the progress the Lord has provided. I thank you for your dedication and generosity in helping make this endeavor a reality for the Diocese of Charlotte. For all of you who are prayerfully considering your support of the seminary I am most grateful.
As this big day approaches, I have some additional information for you about what to expect:
- On September 15th at 3:30pm, guests may begin arriving at the property on 22 Arctus Avenue in Mount Holly. Upon entering the driveway leading to the seminary, there will be seminarians and volunteers who will be checking you in from your car and guiding you where to park.
- The ceremony will begin precisely at 4:00 in front of the seminary. Because a majority of this event will take place outdoors, you may want to prepare should inclement weather occur. Appropriate clothing and an umbrella would be wise in case of rain.
- Between 4:00 and 4:45, Bishop Jugis will lead us in prayer, the ribbon cutting, and the blessing of the seminary. At 4:45, we will be conducting small group tours inside the seminary for all in attendance who want to participate until approximately 5:30. Bottled water will be provided.
- In accordance with diocesan guidelines for religious services, face masks are encouraged when social distancing cannot be maintained. Please try and maintain a 6 feet distance from those not in your household.
We wait in great anticipation as this day draws near. We pray for each of you, in gratitude for all who are making this project a reality, as we prepare for this momentous occasion!
Fr. Matthew Kauth
