5 Years of Building Men

Five years ago, Bishop Peter Jugis realized a dream of his for the Diocese of Charlotte when he canonically erected St. Joseph College Seminary. As he has previously stated “the sign of the maturity of a diocese is when it can start producing its own native vocations to the priesthood.” We have certainly been blessed over these past five years with an increase of vocations to the priesthood as well as the opportunity to nurture these vocations in the diocese where they will one day serve. Therefore, we are looking forward to celebrating our five-year anniversary with special events and opportunities throughout the coming year. Make sure to check this page often as we'll be updating it throughout the year.

Adopt-A-Tree

Note: Thank you for your generous support of our seminary. All of the trees have now been sponsored.
In the beginning of March, we spent the day together planting 100 trees around the seminary. As we continue to add to the land that our property sits on, it is very important to us that we take a special role in each stage. It is our goal to leave this place better than we found it, and each seminarian gets the chance to help build something that is going be a lasting tradition in the Diocese of Charlotte.

This seminary is also for the faithful, and we thought that you, too, may want to participate in this. You might not be able to physically plant a tree, but we are offering each tree to be adopted for a $300 donation.

$19 Million Raised

Due to the generosity of so many, we are nearing our goal of $20 million raised for our seminary building project. It is a blessing to have so many faithful of the Diocese of Charlotte share their gifts to create this seminary – where our future priests will be formed for generations to come.
